Ride-Along Program

Ride-Along Programs

On Patrol with the Chief

The “On Patrol with the Chief” initiative has been designed to bring the community closer to the Ballwin Police Department in order to build stronger bonds between the Police Department and the Ballwin community.

During the ride along, community members will have the opportunity to discuss numerous topics while also seeing firsthand what officers experience on a daily basis. Ride alongs will usually last between one and three hours and can be scheduled by submitting a Ride Along Application.

Application

Ride-Along
Residents 21 years of age or older who are interested in the functions of the Police Department are invited to file a ride-along request/waiver of liability with the Department and upon approval ride with one of the uniformed officers on patrol.  Non-residents who are attending criminal justice classes or employed in the criminal justice system may also request to ride-along.  Applicants will be subjected to a criminal background check and are limited to one ride-along per calendar year.  Once a request is approved the participant will be notified and scheduled to ride.
