Ballwin Officers who have completed the International Police Mountain Bike Association (IPMBA) training are assigned to the Bicycle Unit. The Bicycle Officer has the ability to access difficult areas, navigate through traffic congestion, and approach suspicious activity without audible warning. The unit focuses special attention in subdivisions, apartment complexes, parks, and commercial areas. They also patrol special events, such as "Ballwin Days".
