Vlasis Park Project Updates

The City of Ballwin is excited to present the future of Vlasis Park!

Construction is well underway! Crews are installing the playground and have been hard at work with sitework and prep for the different playscapes/play structures.

Demolition of the Vlasis Park playground began in April.

The Board of Aldermen has awarded the bid for the playground redesign at Vlasis Park to All Inclusive Recreation at the Board meeting on November 27th, 2023.

The current playground will be closing sometime this winter for demolition. Site work will begin this winter/spring with playground installation and completion to be finished by the end of 2024, but the project completion date is subject to change.
 
Here’s what you can expect from the new and improved playground:
  • Many inclusive features to ensure equitable play for all
  • Improved big kid area
  • New toddler area
  • New swing set for those with different abilities
  • New sensory play area
  • Splash pad will be reopened
  • New hillside play area with ADA accessible ramps
This project is made possible by two Municipal Park Grants awarded to the City.
