Charlie is a member through the SilverSneakers program for which The Pointe is a provider. He has been a regular patron for several years and usually is in six times per week. He gives credit to his late wife, Judy, for encouraging him to join and stay active.
After 42 years as a Pepsi Cola delivery driver, Charlie has stayed active through several outlets. He works part time at the Country Club of St. Albans which gives him plenty of opportunity to hit the links. He also spent approximately five years as a volunteer handy man with Our Little Haven, an organization dedicated to children and families. The organization offers several services including mental health services, therapeutic preschool, and foster care case management. Another hobby that keeps his mind exercised is picture puzzles. Charlie enjoys the challenge of puzzles and recommends The Puzzle Warehouse in Kirkwood to anyone looking for puzzles for all levels.
The best thing about The Pointe, according to Charlie, is the convenience. From an equipment standpoint, the fitness center has everything he likes and it is all easy to use. Furthermore, he likes how the equipment is arranged and it doesn’t feel like you are crowded even when it is busy compared to other facilities he has been to. Charlie also mentions that the other patrons and staff are always nice.
When asked about words of wisdom for other members and potential members, Charlie says The Pointe is “a great place to be”. That short and sweet answer says it all.
Thanks, Charlie, for making The Pointe your place to be!
