A Ballwin Board of Aldermen meeting was held on Monday, February 13, 2018 at 7 p.m. A few highlights from the meeting are below as selected by staff. Official meeting minutes will be posted upon approval after the next Board of Aldermen meeting at which time this post will be updated.
- For the 30th year in a row Ballwin Aldermen voted to keep the real estate tax rate at zero percent through 2018. Bill #3987 passed becoming Ordinance #18-01.
- Parks staff recommended the low bidder for apparel purchases in 2018. $17,000 was budgeted for this including staff shirts & participant shirts for races, camps, etc. This cost is offset by a participation fee. Board approves the bid to the lowest bidder, BFM Group.
- The 2018 budget includes the addition of 9 radios for the Public Works Department (5 for trucks and 4 portable). Staff recommends purchasing from Motorola Solutions Quotations who came in $1,601.26 under budget. All Aldermen approved staff’s recommendation.
- City Attorney Jones recommends adding a section to the City’s Nuisance and Dangerous Building Codes after finding some inconsistencies. A motion was made to have Attorney Jones draft legislation to amend Ballwin’s Nuisance and Dangerous Building Code.
